The Lore of the Corporate Realm Chronicles

A System, reimagined.

The structure is complex. The purpose remains unclear.

Within the Corporate Realm Chronicles™, the modern workplace takes form as a vast and ordered castle—where structure governs all, and purpose is assumed, if not always understood.

Each day, its workers arrive in quiet pursuit of a moving standard known only as perfection.

It is never fully defined.
Yet it is consistently expected.

The High Tower

At the highest point of the castle resides the source of direction.

From the High Tower come strategies, expectations, declarations of intent—and, on occasion, strongly worded ravens.

These messages travel swiftly across the realm, shaping action without always providing clarity.

Below, the system adjusts accordingly.

Messages travel quickly. Meaning travels less so.

Observed Interactions — Recorded Exchange

“A clear direction has been established.” — The High Tower
“Could this be clarified?” — Multiple Departments

The Hiring Ritual

Entry into the Corporate Realm is not granted lightly.

Before taking their place within the castle, all must endure a sequence of interviews—measured, observed, and entirely necessary.

Only after progressing through these stages may a candidate be assigned to a Chronicle.

Placement is determined by:

  • performance

  • temperament

  • and, at times, whichever department remembered to submit their request on time

Few enter without question. Fewer still without evaluation.

The process is structured. The outcome is uncertain.

Participation does not constitute employment, advancement, or meaningful change.

Observed Interactions — Recorded Exchange

“We’re looking for initiative.” — Hiring Panel
“Could that be defined?” — Applicant

The Chronicles

The castle is divided into seven distinct domains, known as Chronicles.

Each Chronicle governs a function essential to the operation of the realm—communication, compliance, time, systems, and more.

Though separate in purpose, they remain deeply interconnected.

No Chronicle operates in isolation.
Each influences the others, often unintentionally.

Every role finds its place within the system.
Where do you belong?

  • Remote Toil

  • Out of Mana

  • The Jesters’ Briefing

  • Ravens of Correspondence

  • The Dungeons of Compliance

  • The Tyranny of Deadlines

  • The High Tower

  • The Office of Unaligned Authority

Observed Interactions — Recorded Exchange

“I’ve shared the update.” — Ravens of Correspondence
“I’ll review and revert.” — Remote Toil

Titles and Hierarchy

Titles within the Corporate Realm are numerous and highly regarded.

They suggest authority, imply structure, and provide reassurance.

They do not always reflect reality.

A Lord may report to a Courier.
A Knight may await approval from a Baroness.
A Master may still be pending a response from an Assistant to the Deputy Acting Manager.

It is a carefully balanced system—maintained through convention rather than clarity.

Titles are assigned. Roles are assumed.
Recognition comes later.

Observed Interactions — Recorded Exchange

“I’ll need approval to proceed.” — Sir
“I’ll confirm once reviewed.” — Courier

Those Who Begin

At the foundation of the hierarchy stand the Apprentices and Squires.

They enter with ambition, resilience, and a working understanding that progress is possible.

They are encouraged to look upward—
with determination, and occasional confusion.

Authority and Exception

Operational authority within the castle is overseen by the High Chancellor, whose influence extends across nearly all domains.

Beyond instruction stand only a select few:

  • the CEO

  • and the two Castle Keepers

The Keepers are widely respected, rarely questioned, and generally left undisturbed.

This arrangement is considered optimal.

The Ongoing Work

And so the realm continues.

Meetings are convened.
Messages are sent.
Deadlines approach.

Ambition persists.
Survival adapts.
The occasional biscuit is taken.

Observed Interactions — Recorded Exchange

“This needs immediate attention.” — The Tyranny of Deadlines
“Noted.” — The Realm

A Familiar System

Though presented as a castle, the structure is not unfamiliar.

It reflects a system already in place—
observed, exaggerated, and reassembled.

A kingdom that functions remarkably like a modern organisation.
